Founding and early history
STARS was founded 17/05/2007 a year after the opening of the Alpha server. The founder and GM was Andromeda assisted by Commodore-in-Chief Dracata. The early STARS was a small and weak guild. In order to survive from ancient and enormous guilds, many smaller guilds have reach out and seek for alliances, including STARS. Dracata in charged of battle and discipline affairs while Andromeda established guild structure, system, forum, diplomatic relations and alliance with many remarkable guilds, such as NGR, SIR, RFA, *H*, UFP, {WD}, CotM, etc. Less than half a year, STARS proudly set up brother guild status with NGR and SIR respectively due to intimate friendship and excellent cooperation.
The very first battle and first victory of STARS was against the intrusion of [=^=] in Jun 2007. Many righteous guilds contacted Andromeda to offer help and fleets. STARS's honourable reputation was brought up by this incident and has widely made new alliances and friends. After a few months, LUEnar declared war on a group of smaller guilds, and the advance of STARS close relationship with NGR and SIR. Higher level STARS players participated in the guild BOB to prevent the guild Horde farming smaller guilds. STARS was once ranked in the top 40 guilds. Among the notable leaders of the guild were QuickSilver, frankvsfred, Actarus, Black Hawk, Rasputin (now Dark Temptress), Kimmler, Bob McFred, Baldamundo, Locutus of Borg (now Åмǚñ~Ŕâ), GaZ, gyd, Tzoli, pak, pegleg, hallucinogenius, Peter Jackson, Teutonic, efanton, Litchi, Xiburwolf, etc.
The 'difficult' middle period
December 2007, having founded the guild and overseen it's early growth Andromeda was unable to log in due to real life issues and Commodore Dracata took over the GM role but was themselves less able to give the game attention due to RL commitments. Meantime, many officers were getting busier themselves and management scheme went loose. Members grew a sense of drift in the guild that the guild is getting dysfunctional. Some foreign guilds came to persuade members to join their guilds or become their training guild. This cumulated in the 'Christmas Crisis' of 2007 when due to a series of RL issues and PC breakdowns the members found themselves needing to make decisions but without any leadership. This led to some serious and open criticism of the guild as having 'too many officers, but no bloody leadership'. This crisis was smoothened by firm action of Blackhawk and the repair of Rasputin's PC.
New Era
In early 2008, Andromeda and Dracata came back from inactivity and they decided to restructure the leadership of the guild, in case of same management crisis happens again. In consideration of RL issues, Andromeda promoted two more Commodores and decided to step back and let BobMcFred, Kimmler and Dracata to take turns on the guild-mastership. This functioned throughout March till July of 2008. STARS continued it's close links with SIR and NGR, members serving in NGR and then the merged war guild (with RFA) 'United Rangers of the Realm' during the Second Server War. Meanwhile other STARS members fought in the guild Pieces of Eight [P-O-8] with whom STARS have a close relationship in this period.
As the server war wound down and a further leadership crisis emerged. Members needed time to rebuild after the server war and the leadership again in disarray as DRACATA virtually disappeared, and Kimmler lost the confidence of the membership. A declaration of war from [{TA}] and [HORDE] lead to a greater divergence of views and the recognition that with the guild in disarray, STARS was not able to fight back effectively. In an controversial move BobMcFred, seconded by The Unclean and efanton,led the majority of members into a temporary merger with NGR to rebuild. Not everyone accepted this as a wise move. Some stayed in the original STARS guild while other left at this point, leaving less than 20 members in the guild. Dracata, completing university and starting a career, turned inactive and quit AE. [{TA}] meanwhile withdrawn the declaration.
Rebuild STARS
After a month of recovery and re-coordination, most of the members were agreed to refound STARS and that there should be an election to find a new GM, a procedure that has continued in STARS ever since. The election of BobMcFred as GM marked a rebuild of STARS. He quickly set up a council of officers to assist him in overhauling the guild. Notable achievements in this period included the achievement of Brother guild status with RFA; the formation of the war guild [8472] by STARS members when their brother guilds, NGR,SIR and RFA were declared on by BORG. STARS member Baldamundo acting as GM of [8472].
After six months as GM BobMcFred indicated that he would step down after new year 2009, and a further election was held the candidates being Peter Jackson, Dark Temptress and Baldamundo. Despite interruption by a declaration of war by MIN, Baldamundo emerged victorious from a close ballot, which was decided in the second round when Peter Jackson's votes, Jackson had dropped out in the first round, transferred to him.
Under Baldamundo the steady progress begun by McFred continued. There was a successful war with the guild [RxD]and STARS intervention on the side of her allies NGR and SIR, in support of MIN in the Fourth Server War. Less happy was the troubled departure of Diplomat Dark Temptress, who appeared to have trouble accepting her second election defeat when standing as GM. This departure forced GM Baldamundo to take over the diplomat role himself, where despite the concerns about combining the GM and diplomat role he manged well.
From October to December it was clear the Baldamundo was finding it hard to do his duties as GM, during this period STARS was keep together by the council, particularly efanton, The Unclean, McFred and Teutonic. In January 2010 Baldamundo resigned as GM due to not being able to find time for the game so Bob McFred became stand in GM and an election was held for a new GM. In this The Unclean received a clear margin of votes over efanton, who he promptly reappointed to the council.The Unclean has since led STARS through wars with USAF and then -CL- and the <brief> fifth server war.

Training Guild
Flushed with victory and determined to cut a figure in the politics of alpha our GM, the most revered and worshiped Baldamundo, decide that his prestige needed a Training Guild.
The TG has been called [LH95] Nebulae and set up and initially GMed by Black Hawk [1] And then by Conqueror. The curse of real life intervening again both Black Hawk and Conqueror had to leave Alpha and the leadership fell into the hands of Loki Elis.
In February a new LH95 gm was elected:Beeblebrox! This was due to real life preventing Loki from being GM.
War vs. -CL-
Early after Unclean had been appointed to be the GM in Mid February 2010, Cruel Lycans declared war on STARS. It soon became apparent that this was not going to be a friendly war, but a war of cunning and sly tactics. Mercenary troops had set up in Cruel Lycans to even out the score of fleets, in Turn STARS put pressure on -CL- to stop the Merc hiring or there would be consequences, with SIR backing STARS up it took a while. but most of the Mercs had left. The war had turned ugly, and while there were a good number of hits here and there against both guilds, the war turned into a political argument of who was in the wrong and threatening to bring in other guilds into the fight. ultimately the war was a stalemate and it morphed into the 5th Server War.
STARS and The 5th Server War
STARS had little participation in the Server War, although a few members did help in fighting. Mainly Unclean and Duvidicus helped in the crash against the enemy in the largest and fastest Server War ever.
War: STARS vs. U.M.C/VIR
This war was a friendly war between both guilds. Both guilds wanted to test how they worked in combat and who were the real contributors in the guilds. in effect this was a war to thin out the members that did nothing and keep the core guild members who contributed to strengthen the guild. The war started with a blast with the first hits going to Tauri and Hellfire of STARS, next in line came Teutonic and Nuromancer who dominated A59 within 6 hours. After these two crusades VIR and U.M.C started hitting back with new ferocity, A36 become their territory and Tzoli, a member of STARS, got the brunt of their force with all his bases being occupied almost constantly. Because of that it was hard for STARS to march right into A36. STARS had to make some plans to get into A36 to liberate Tzoli, after much arguing Tauri and Hellfire became the leaders and brought a couple STARS members with them, they we able to make some profitable hits the biggest was killing 11 mill on the A36 wormhole by Clan Cambell and Tauri but at the end of the day A36 was still VIR territory.
In the mean time many other STARS members worked there way around and made hits here and there, currently STARS is still yet to gather all the info, for it went by a little fast. It was interrupted when a TN member, Shiva [2], effectively wiped out Teutonic's armada, killing Nuromancer's, Madara's, Xiburwolf's, and Daemonphage's fleet with a levi drop. an attack like this angered the members and an oath of revenge was made for attacking a guild while at war. Shiva has been warned and the revenge comes soon. This was the only main interruption of the war from outside threat.
In the midst of the war U.M.C was hit by Alex the Great [3], U.M.C attacked back, but alex kept pressing, even after U.M.C warned that they would ZF him.U.M.C asked STARS if they could take a breather while they finished with the wretch, STARS agreed. Once they finished with him they came back to fight us again Further into the war U.M.C was again set back when one of their members attacked a scout from -LA-, LA responded in KOSing the guild.
By the last week of the war there was a second operation to A36 to gain some last profit.Many fleet from VIR was taken down by again Tauri, Hellfire, and a new attacker into A36, Kongknud. The war proved to STARS that there was fight left in them, while some members chose to not commit to anything, others rose up to the challenge, the Thinning of the herd begins and starting off on a new foot with Unclean as our leader. We will fight again soon to prove to our Brother Guilds and Allies, that we can grow and prosper!

Crusader of Time ~ The guild spammer, guild clown, and he makes/made the guild avatar, and avatars for a few guild members. He also made the latest guild avatar. This one. He is also a massive tool, he shouts some times, and is really loud, even if he is just using text. He hurt my ears once.

Self proclaimed, powerverde, did in fact improve the guild, he has killed many a spaceboat, and brought much honor and e-pins to the guild.
