Alpha Server

Alpha is the first AE server which opened on May 20th, 2006. It is home to the oldest, most experienced players and guilds in Astroempires. Being the first server, Alpha has been the game's “guinea pig” for the early part of its existence. Most of what current players take for granted today, early players in Alpha did not have. Many changes to the game took place within the first few months since Alpha's opening, and many changes to personal account and guild strategy were born on Alpha.

The 'Tame' server

One of Alpha's unique aspects that separates it from other servers is its unwritten code of conduct regarding smaller players and guilds. Most top players and guilds abide by “no fair game” policies on smaller players and guilds. Unlike the newer servers like Epsilon and Fenix where the top guilds will only accept experienced players, many top guilds in Alpha will accept new players and teach them the game. Because of these aspects, most players agree that Alpha is the best server for new players to start on.

Currently, Alpha is going through a major political restructuring as the old power blocs of old have begun to splinter and realign. BORG and Mordor were originally the top guilds in one power bloc, however both of these guilds suffered major defeats in the last server war and have been replaced by their allies -Min- and UCorp. The III power bloc has been all but replaced by AzTEC, CoRM and 13th.
