Delta Server

Delta server was the fourth AstroEmpires server to be released. It was launched on 17th November 2007, roughly the one-year anniversary of Beta. This server saw a greater emphasis on the "stronghold" tactic than even Ceti: most players who did not join the dominant guild of their galaxy were farmed and permanently occupied until they relocated or quit the game. Because of this, "spread" guilds with members in many different galaxies were almost non-existent for much of the server's life, and the server politics were dramatically impacted.

The partnership between WMD and GRITS has long been the dominant alliance of the server. Though both guilds have maintained additional, somewhat fluid, alliances with other guilds, the alliance between these two has withstood multiple assaults and emerged as the dominant entity in Delta. Currently, the first Server War seems to have begun (although no major jumpgate crashes have yet been made by either side), with WMD, GRITS, AYAYA, and FLEET the primary guilds on one side, while Merc, SAD, WOLF, SNES and GINTH (a D40's superguild, with members from PCP, SWARM, and IIII) are the primary guilds on the other.
